In December, we came together at the charming Woodcote Hotel to celebrate one of the most meaningful events in our calendar—the Long Service Awards. This annual gathering is our chance to honour the incredible commitment, loyalty, and hard work of our team members who have dedicated many years to supporting our organisation and the people we serve.

This year, we were especially proud to honour Emma Beddard, Health Care Assistant, as she celebrated an incredible 25 years of service. Emma’s long-standing commitment, compassion, and quiet strength have made a lasting difference to countless residents and colleagues over the years. Her dedication embodies the very best of our values, and we are deeply grateful for her continued contribution to our team.
Selina Theaker – Our Shining Star of 2025
We were also delighted to recognise Selina Theaker as our Shining Star of 2025. Selected from our Employee of the Month awardees, Selina was chosen for consistently going the extra mile in her role as Housekeeper at Plessington Court. Her attention to detail, care for residents, and warm approach have made her a much‑loved member of the team.
Our Employee of the Month winners are nominated directly by families, who share their positive feedback with the manager monthly making Selina’s achievement all the more special. Her dedication shines through in everything she does, and we are thrilled to celebrate her success.

The Woodcote Hotel provided the perfect backdrop for the occasion. Its cosy, festive atmosphere created a welcoming space for colleagues to relax, connect, and reflect on another year of shared achievements. From beautifully decorated tables to the friendly hospitality, the setting helped make the evening feel truly special.
Honouring Remarkable Commitment
The highlight of the night was recognising those who reached long‑service milestones. Whether celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 years, or more, each milestone represents countless moments of kindness, professionalism, and dedication.
We heard inspiring stories from across our services—moments that show the true heart of what we do. It was wonderful to see the appreciation and applause as each awardee was recognised for their contribution.

Alongside the awards, the evening was filled with conversation, laughter, and a shared sense of pride. These events are not only about looking back, but also about looking forward—continuing to build a supportive workplace where people feel valued and part of something meaningful. The team enjoyed their Christmas Party later in the evening.
